Therapy in Houston for Adults Ready to Move Beyond Insight Alone

Anxiety - Trauma - OCD - Somatic Healing

EMDR & Brainspotting Therapy Provided by a South Asian Therapist in Houston, Texas

Sanna Khoja, M.Ed., LPC

South Asian Cis-woman anxiety and trauma therapist

I'm a somatic therapist. That means I work with body-based approaches, not just talk therapy.

A lot of my clients are self-aware people who have been in therapy before and understand their patterns well. They just have not been able to change them. That is what I focus on.

I am a neurodivergent South Asian cis-woman who is a child of immigrants. I have a professional and personal understanding of generational trauma and healing. I will honor all the complexities of your identity and what makes you, you.

My Approach as a Therapist in Houston, TX

Most of my clients come in after already doing some therapy. They are not new to this. They know their patterns; they can explain them, and they still cannot change them.

That is usually because insight alone does not move the body. And the body is where most of this stuff actually lives.

I work with EMDR and Brainspotting. Both use the eyes to connect to the parts of the brain that store memories. I also do parts work and somatic approaches depending on what someone needs. The goal is not to talk about what happened forever. It is to actually change how it lives in you.

All sessions are online. I see clients across Texas.

Who I Work With

The people I work with are usually high-functioning. They hold it together at work. They are thoughtful. They are often the hardest on themselves of anyone in the room.

Some come in looking specifically for a South Asian therapist. Some are looking for EMDR or somatic therapy because talk therapy has not touched what they are dealing with. Some have childhood trauma they have been managing for years and want to actually process it, not just cope with it. Some have OCD and want someone trained to treat it properly.

They are self-aware. They just have not been able to change. That is what we work on.

If you are ready to try something different, the first step is a free 15-minute consultation. It is just a conversation. No pressure, no commitment.

 Not Looking for Weekly Therapy?

Some people don’t want to come back every week for months. They want to do the work in a concentrated way and see real movement faster.

I offer half-day and full-day intensives using EMDR and Brainspotting. An intensive gives us enough time to actually complete a full processing cycle, instead of stopping right when something opens up. Most people leave having done something they could not have done in a standard session.
